To be honest point break is one of the best movies I have ever watched, I just watched it again today and I thought it was amazing, every character played their part well especially bodie and Utah.

Parents need to know that Break Point is a thoughtful comedy masquerading as a rough-around-the-edges romp with a mouthy athlete as one of its main characters. Expect some salty language including "f--k" and "s--t" and drinking one character likes his beer a little too much, even when…. Everyone deserves a second chance, even a brother who betrayed you but didn't truly understand it at the time. Also, second-guessing yourself is the surest way to ensure defeat. Jimmy is a rude, messy, selfish wildcard on the tennis circuit, but he also cares about his family and has a heart he conceals because of his own insecurity. Darren holds grudges but is able to rise above them when push comes to shove. Their father is kind and wise, even though he sometimes waits too long to share his wisdom. Two men tussle after a tennis match, punching each other.

Parents need to know that Point Break is a remake of the movie of the same name -- and, like most remakes, it's not worth much. Some teens, especially extreme sports nuts, may be interested especially given that this version is rated PG, as opposed to the original's R , but its shelf life is…. Buried in the plot are ideas about protecting -- and respecting -- the Earth and giving back as much as or more than we take from it. But these ideas come from the movie's bad guy, and his message is entwined with the idea that people must risk their lives via dangerous ordeals to "honor" nature.

By Duane Byrge. While the critics may yammer, Point Break delivers the thrills, spills and crunches its action-hungry audience demands. Break will probably ride its highest crest in the Far East, where its Zenny-macho undercurrents will satisfy an audience that tends to admire familiar structures and stereotypes rather than deride them. Namely, them there robbers, Pappas perceives, are likely surfers, seasonal bandits who follow the waves — you get the story drift. AFMA members take note: this opus would similarly shine if transported from the surfer world to the stripper world. Without detailing the sturm and drang of W. Director Kathryn Bigelow pumps up the action to, indeed, full adrenal dimension.

There are certain images that slither past good taste and politics and sink their teeth straight into the subconscious. For instance: a man dressed in a tuxedo and a Ronald Reagan mask, using a gasoline pump as a flamethrower. Also law enforcement and skydiving. Describe any film too briskly and you risk turning it into a screwball comedy. It sounds weird, but then all action thrillers—all genre movies—are weird, albeit in a way that we spend our lives learning to ignore. But you can also sense that it is for the moments like this—the sight of these two beautiful people caked in blood and confetti—that the earlier, clumsier versions exist.

There are multiple violent and bloody shoot-outs, tons of profanity especially "f--" throughout, a few scenes of implied intercourse, and a brief scene of nudity featuring a topless woman. Ironically, the bad guy has the most morals -- he's concerned with protecting and saving the planet -- but he's also a bank robber and someone who doesn't seem particularly concerned with the well-being of his friends. We won't share this comment without your permission. There is surfing, car chases, skydiving , guns and much more. What is clear from this film is how nuanced Swayze was as an actor and performer. So funny. Lot's of violence and swearing but apart from that I would be ok to let a mature 11 year old to watch this movie. Movie R 90 minutes. Based on Kathryn Bigelow's terrific movie , the updated POINT BREAK copies the basic idea but strips away most of the original's nuance and feeling; this one is unbendingly simple, with few tough decisions or emotional struggles. Positive Messages very little.

Bigelow's camera work and storytelling offers a hetero-female gaze that is interesting for it's novelty.
