But in Project Zomboid, an early access survival game developed by The Indie Stone, you can explore most of Kentucky in a zombie apocalypse that is far too realistic. And while skills in Project Zomboid such as whittling spears from logs and fashioning splints from tree branches make sense in the zombie apocalypse, one skill, unfortunately, flies under the radar: tailoring. Being a tailor means you can alter clothing. And being an intelligent tailor during the zombie apocalypse means you can alter clothing to make it more durable, defensible, and bite-resistant. Do you want to know how to become the ultimate tank in Project Zomboid? Then check out my Project Zomboid tailoring guide.

Tailoring is one of the newest, and thus least documented skills in the game at time of writing.

Tailoring is a skill that I admittedly haven't dabbled in too much, and I imagine many others haven't either. By far, the most complicated item to find in this macabre simulation is the needle.

.

To level up Tailoring in Project Zomboid, you must add padding and patch holes in your clothes. Start by right-clicking a clothing item you have equipped. Doing so will open a tab with a list of options, and you will need to click the one that says Inspect. Clicking Inspect will then display a menu like the one shown below. You can patch both holes in clothing and add padding inside this menu. To add padding to your clothes, right-click a section of the clothing item and click add padding.

I encourage you to go out and try leveling it yourself, especially to make the most of your clothing, and lessen your chances of a run being ended by bad RNG. I would say tailoring is definitely worth it, for the tankiness alone it makes the trade worth it. The ranger hat is important. Also never trust streamers to guide you in playing games. In the interest of convenience, I've created this handy little guide! If you are an experimented player of PZ, can you tell me your points of view, please? Each part of clothing has a set bite and scratch defense percentage, which can be increased with the addition of strips of cloth. That has nothing to do with tailoring, just adding it in. Part of the problem is that you need a sewing needle to tailor your clothes. Plus, clothing on zombies is often worn, or becomes worn during combat, meaning you might be out of luck even if you spot a zombie wearing something valuable.

.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, leveling tailoring allows you to increase the defensive ability of your existing clothing, via the addition of patches, even when no hole is present. The zombies are ruthless, and mother nature is more so. You think ppl will last in a hardcore apocalypse seeing the streamer playing? Get the necessary tools — eedle, thread, scissors — and start altering clothing. I rarely did. Unlike farming in Project Zomboid , which requires you to wait for your plants to grow, tailoring can give immediate results. Plus the aforementioned benefit to increasing chance to find thread. Fabric You may already have a lot of these in the form of ripped sheets, which as you can guess are good for more than makeshift bandages. It is only visible to you. Go figure. Now comes the boring part. Scroll to Top. Do this until you run out of thread, run out of patches, or get your tailoring skill to the desired level. More progress to lose.
