Qas volleyball

These squads are comprised of athletes who have been identified by Volleyball Australia coaches and National Pathway Talent Identification scouts. This program trains dual discipline, beach and indoor volleyball, twice a week and the scholarship period runs from April to March the following year. We encourage all of our athletes to participate in these other programs simultaneously with their Elite Development training to create a daily training regimen. We are a participation training program as opposed to a volleyball club team that competes targeted towards long-term athlete development to help progress athletes up the volleyball pathway in Australia. Athletes train once per week during school terms, and the trainings typically include specific technical or tactical work which is then developed into gameplay or other gameplay scenarios. Volleyball Queensland VQ is the state organisation for volleyball focused on increasing participation and pathways in all forms of indoor volleyball and beach volleyball throughout Queensland. Slack is a triple Olympian, having represented Australia in beach volleyball at the Sydney , Athens and Beijing Olympic Games. Having lived out his own Olympic dreams as an athlete, Slack is looking forward to working with the next generation of volleyballers to help them pursue theirs as a coach.
