The trial of Shawn Purvis is underway in Cumberland County Court, with the first prosecution witnesses called to the stand Thursday morning. Purvis is the home improvement company owner charged with two counts of manslaughter for the death of Alan Loignon, a roofer who was not wearing a safety harness when he fell from a three-story house in Portland's East End.
