The most remarkable thing about Rayman Legends is how consistently it introduces new and unpredictable ideas over its roughly 12 hours. This beautifully animated co-op game tosses dozens of inventive ideas into the mix, proving there's still room for exciting creativity in the platforming genre. Every time I thought I found a personal favorite stage, the next one came along and replaced it. This sequel takes Rayman Origins ' colorful, animated look and feel in new directions. The beautiful transitions and clever bosses look stunning, expressive, and vibrant. Compared to most platformer characters, Rayman's jump physics tend to feel a little floaty, but I got used to it and grew to love it quickly.

When it first launched in I was blown away by its stunning level design, whimsical music and truly creative imagination. Nearly every level was an unexpected joy that challenged and charmed in equal measure. Variety is also in plentiful supply, with Rayman stumbling across worlds made of cake, cooking utensils and even didgeridoos. Rayman can run, jump, punch and fly across almost any environment. You can thankfully alleviate its more challenging sections by bringing in a friend.

The music, the visual, level design,all are so spot on! Nothing has been left out, and as long as they don't release any other versions ever, it will be the last iteration. There are times where the game slowed down to the point where I was almost playing a slideshow. Well, sort of. Controlling Rayman and his chums is a treat. Again, they're great when played in co-op, but constantly losing because of AI stupidity beyond my control made me want to avoid those missions entirely in single-player. The only truly new features here are a complete character roster for the first time and a tournament mode for its football mini-game. You run, jump and punch your way through various 2D levels. The Vita version was the only other one to include the touchscreen functionality. Plus that game is all about speed and beating the levels quickly. I prefer Wii U to play this game, Murfy is a great touch in a multiplayer mayhem. They don't reinvent the platforming boss battle, but these encounters show off some of the best visuals tricks, putting on a spectacular show. One of the best platformers I have played and definitely better than most recent "plumber platformers", a highly recommended purchase if you haven't bought it yet for Wii U, Vita, , PS3, Xbox One or PS4.
