Reiner is shocked to awake to the sight of his former comrade standing with the rest of the th and the group explains to him that they want to work together to stop Eren. Before the flying boat can depart Floch reveals himself, shooting holes in the boat's fuel tank and forcing the mechanics to make further repairs to the boat. Believing Zeke to be dead and the danger of Eren activating the Founder to be no more, Reiner decides to undo the hardening on his nape and let Falco devour him so that the boy will be saved.
