By SmartSped March 7, in Atari Is there a better alternative for playing carts on a modern TV? I honestly don't know. I haven't investigated. I know there's lots of other choices for NES games but haven't really dug into Atari systems. I'm not aware of any modern solution if you want to play actual cartridges. Is there a known hardware mod that can be applied to the Retron 77 to enable expanded support? Would that even be feasible? This might slightly increase compatibility: closing the switch would signal the R77 that a cart is in the slot, if it failed to automatically detect its presence. The other limitations limited supported types and wrong type detection would still apply, though.

If someone can send me a list of games to test, I would be more than happy to as i am back from a 7 day training. I hope that there is an update to this console so that it can address some of the carts that do not play on the original library. It might take a day or two but will get around to it. I've got a question. Does the Genesis pad work if you start the machine with a Joystick plugged in and then switch to the pad?
