The O2 has 2, parking spaces and car parks are open 24 hours a day. All car parks are clearly sign posted and are located a short walk from the entrance of The O2. Parking is managed by a pay on foot system similar to that operated at many airports and shopping centres. Please note there is no on-street parking on the Greenwich Peninsula enforced by a controlled parking zone on all streets within two miles of The O2. Completed in , Robin Hood Gardens was intended as a model of post-war London social housing. The project was initially met with heavy criticism and has failed as a social housing scheme over the past 30 years. Since then, it has received a great deal of media attention and praise by architectural critics. The argument over Robin Hood Gardens has historically been one of high-profile architects over the concepts and ideas used in the project. There has been little focus about the housing itself or those living in it. The project is currently set for demolition this summer surmising the final opportunity for debate. It is just north of the river Thames, providing a viable source of labor and commerce. The docks were initially developed at the end of the 17th century and grew to be the largest in the world during the 19th century. The project is on Robin Hood Lane, a medieval road whose name is of no relation to the English folklore, but a corruption of the original name of Robin Wood Lane. The road was an essential connection for the working class who lived in this region throughout the 19th and 20th centuries while working on the docks.
