As you know by now, I love a good train adventure. And it turned out to be a very easy and amazing train trip to the northwest of Spain. Hop on board! I paid for everything in full myself. I was not paid or sponsored. All my opinions and experiences are my own.

Choose the one that suits you best and get travelling! Bilbao Airport, with connections to all Europe, is km from the city, and Biarritz Airport, served by French and international low-cost companies, 47km. Underground pay parkings all around the town. Park and Ride free car parks with bus connection to the city centre. There is also an underground railway, the Metro Donostialdea , a narrow-gauge train connection with Bilbao and cities along the Basque Coast, such as Zarautz.

The temporary station is on the other side of the train tracks, in the Plaza Nestor Basterretxea. It can be reached from the Egia neighbourhood, opposite the side entrance to the Tabakalera International Contemporary Cultural Centre. As the gauge is different, they have a different station, but it is super easy to find. By car, it would take well over 12 hours of driving time but you have to take stops and traffic into consideration. To enter most of the carriages you need to press a button on the door to make it open; the doors do not usually open automatically. It took us only 2 hours to reach Bordeaux. On my 2nd trip to the Basque Country, I had a little bit more time and decided to see if I could travel to San Sebastian by train! Finally, we arrived in San Sebastian. However, the Euskotren train from Hendaye to San Sebastian is not included. Because of the above-mentioned issues, I searched for a train ticket from my hometown to Hendaye in the South of France.
