We had to make hundreds of bouquets and a gust of wind could blow the whole stand over. One of those passers-by on his daily bus ride to work was an advertising director named Simon Brotherson. He orchestrated a meeting with Vic, which eventually led to their getting married. The thought of owning her own flower shop had been with her for some time. One day, when walking Betsy to school, she came across a suitable location and, with a little financial help from Simon, she decided to go ahead.
