Ever the adventurer, during this time she climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro with her family, making it to the summit just as the sun was rising. As a child, Dr. Mullen had told her parents that she wanted to become a physician, and she began that dream when she matriculated at Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. Even as a first-year medical student, she had a passion for skin and volunteered at skin cancer awareness events throughout the Valley of the Sun. Based on academic achievement, she was awarded entrance to Sigma Sigma Phi Honor Medical Society as a third-year medical student. Mullen completed a general surgery internship year at Maricopa County Hospital now Valleywise Health Medical Center , a Level I trauma center, as well as the Arizona Burn Center, serving third degree burn patients from all over the Southwest. She then completed her dermatology residency at HonorHealth in Phoenix, one of the largest healthcare systems in Arizona, She was appointed chief resident in her final year. When she is not working, her favorite hobby is spending time with her husband, twin boys, daughter, and her beloved extended family in Arizona.
