The kitchen comes with all white goods fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster etc , and students are required to bring their own kitchenware such as pots and pans, dishware and crockery etc. The Free Shop at Endcliffe on Sunday 17 September is a great way to pick up any kitchen items you may have forgotten, so we highly recommend heading over to check it out. Main problem is, it's too hot. In winter it was degrees C and summer , usually Couldn't study or sleep properly so wouldn't recommend unless you come from a hot country. They couldn't cool it down. There was an uninsulated hot water pipe running through my room which took months to get insulated and lots of chasing.

Crewe Hall- best standard accommodation in the uni, good facilities and really nice gardens. Loads of single sex flats but was still a lot of fun. Great halls- everybody around, Edge convenient. Long walk to university buildings and lectures though- around 40 minutes. I lived in Crewe Hall in Endcliffe which is an older building separate from the main halls of residence. I had an older building and opted for the cheapest accomodation, and shared with 9 other mixed-sex flat mates and shared 3 bathrooms between 10 of us. Socially this was not a great place to live, because our flat was more like a terraced house with its own front door rather than sharing a floor or hall with other flats, so we didn't mingle with other Crewe students. However we had a large grassy courtyard and tennis courts, and we often had BBQs in the summer which most of Endcliffe couldn't do. The flat was really warm sometimes too warm in summer and the showers were good. It was located slightly closer to uni than the other halls too. Because the building was older, we had sinks in every room which made up for the fact we didn't have en suites, and the rooms were almost 3 times the size of the newer builds in Endcliffe. The wifi was superfast and there was a small library next door that not many people knew about so we didn't have to trek into uni to get a space in the main libraries. Although most halls are overpriced, I think Crewe was good value for money in comparison to the newer part of Endcliffe, although I would have paid more for a better social experience. Fantastic accommodation only downside is the walk to uni being a little longer that nessesery and the proper shops are quite far but the shop onsite is great and most of the time had all you needed. The edge bar is a great meet up point, there's always a social event somewhere in the student village but it does get kinda noisy of the night which is bad if you want an early one.

I haven't been able to find a single reference to the hall, except protests about students on the BANG website! Does anyone know what the hall was built for, its age? I think there have been a few extensions to it since it was first built, but i'm not sure. The oldest part of The Hall Wow imagine having that whole place to yourself!
Your rent includes all utility bills water, gas, electric , contents insurance, and you'll have access to the university's campus-wide WiFi across the residences, as well as Residence Life events and sports activities throughout the year. All contracts are self-catered and either 42 or 51 weeks in length, with the majority of week contracts reserved for Postgraduate students. The final value to be charged will be provided during the booking process along with the payment schedule. The Village Store is a nice little shop open to students and the public where you can top up your essentials. There are launderettes located across the residences, and there's guaranteed to be one a short walk from your accommodation, they are all cashless and even come with detergent and fabric softener included! The Edge Hub is a comfy place to study, with sofas, computers, printers, drink-making facilities and a Community Fridge too.

Lots of green spaces. Keep reading Need a new account? I've seen most people complaining about size and such I'd like to see what all the fuss is about. I personally love it a lot, because we also have a garden and everything! Although Ranmoor has a reputation for being quieter than the larger Endcliffe accommodation, there is still definitely a community atmosphere. Oak style vinyl flooring and grey roller blinds. Location was handy, socially great as everyone interacted and easy to meet other flats. No social spaces other than kitchen in the flat or building, have to go to the main common room at the Edge across the field.
Here for when you want more than just a room. For making memories, and finding lifelong friends. Events to enjoy, and opportunities to learn.
Don't need anything more expensive really. Although Ranmoor has a reputation for being quieter than the larger Endcliffe accommodation, there is still definitely a community atmosphere. See full league table No social spaces! Write a Review. Howden Apartments. Very poor communication with halls management, their maintenance line is always busy and will just spring replacement charges out of nowhere, even when the item they were replacing was broken anyway. Social life is great at Crewe. The social space was a little uncomfortable cheap plastic chairs although it was very large and offered plenty of room for party's. Very social! Close I accept. However we had a large grassy courtyard and tennis courts, and we often had BBQs in the summer which most of Endcliffe couldn't do.
