In this post I am going to simple carburetor diagram what a simple carburetor is and how it works, not going in deep calculations so a non-technical person can also understand easily.

The process of preparing a combustible mixture of a certain composition from finely atomized fuel and air that occurs outside the engine cylinders is called carburetion, and the device in which this process occurs is a carburetor. The principle of operation of the simplest carburetor is similar to the principle of operation of the atomizer. Carburetor works this way: liquid under the action of discharge flows from the atomizer, and then mixes with air to form a combustible mixture. Simple Carburetor Diagram: intake system diagram with the simplest carburetor; 1 — pipeline; 2 — hole in the float chamber; 3 — diffuser; 4 — spray; 5 — throttle valve; 6 — mixing chamber; 7 — nozzle; 8 — float chamber; 9 — float; 10 — needle valve; Y — simple carburetor, X — ideal carburetor. A nozzle is a metal plug with a small calibration hole through which a certain portion of fuel per unit time passes. The simple carburetor consists of a float chamber 8, a diffuser 3, an atomizer 4 with a jet 7, a mixing chamber 6 and a throttle valve 5.

Design of simple carburetor Carburetor is the device that used to mix air and fuel in an internal combustion engine. The main objective of the carburetor is to provide quality air-fuel mixture for cruising range and for other special requirements likes at starting, idling, acceleration, variable load, and speed operation condition. Above figure shows a simple carburetor. The main parts of a simple carburetor are carburetor air filter, float chamber, fuel discharge nozzle, metering orifice , choke valve , throttle valve and venturi. The float chamber is vented to the upstream side of the venturi or to the atmosphere. The float goes down as a result of the decreasing amount of fuel inside the chamber. When the fuel level goes down the designed level, the floats go down, actuate the fuel supply valve and admits fuel into the chamber. When fuel reached the designed level, float closes the fuel supply valve. The tip of fuel discharge nozzle from the float chamber is located to the throat of venturi. The tip will be slightly above the level of fuel in the float chamber to avoid overflow. The throttle valve is regulated by the mechanical linkage cable or pneumatic link to the accelerator pedal of the vehicle. Working principle of simple carburetor Simple Carburator work on the Bernoulli's principle. During the suction stroke, air is drawn into the cylinder through venturi also known as choke tube.

Their disadvantages include less fuel-efficient and less powerful than fuel injection systems. Be sure to leave at least 50SP undelegated on your account.

The nozzle is a small hole in the jet tube that allows fuel to flow into the venturi. The simple carburetor consists of a float chamber 8, a diffuser 3, an atomizer 4 with a jet 7, a mixing chamber 6 and a throttle valve 5. Fuel is pumped from the fuel tank to the float chamber through a strainer. The term vapourization and atomization should be understood clearly. Glad you liked it. Read More Carter Carburetor. Above figure shows a simple carburetor. Explore communities…. Glad you liked it. As the throttle position changes, the composition of the combustible mixture prepared in the carburetor is changing significantly. Relatively rich mixture of air fuel ratio of is required by the engine while accelerating or running at high speeds. At a certain level of fuel, the needle valve 10 closes the hole in the inlet pipe and the flow of fuel into the float chamber is stopped.
