Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun use their many talents to send a message of hope and community to those who feel hopeless and alone. They do send other messages, but this is the most immediate and by far the most important. It isolates the message from those who genuinely need it most. The reality, however, is that a truly lifesaving message is getting heavy pushback from many who claim to believe and live out these truths — all in the name of self-glorification. When that happens, we withhold goodness from so many people.

Columbus, Ohio's Twenty One Pilots might just be the biggest cult band in the world. Thanks to their mythmaking and music, they've inspired in their 'Skeleton Clique' the kind of superfandom normally reserved for space epics or fighting fantasies. But behind the flights of fancy, there's humanity. Gary Ryan meets the band as they kick off their stunning UK arena tour in Birmingham, and hears how family, dementia and anxiety fuel their genre-hopping songs. Onlookers might be forgiven for assuming an Anonymous demonstration is going to break out, but this is the Skeleton Clique, the fiercely devoted superfanbase of Twenty One Pilots, waiting outside the venue six hours before the Ohio duo are due onstage to kick off the UK leg of their mammoth Bandito tour. The song is intense--very poppy--and supposedly going to be part of the soundtrack for the upcoming Suicide Squad. It's basically a rule that Twenty One Pilots doesn't write in the same genre twice. And we can definitely hear that here with "Heathens. It reminds me of "Fairly Local" more than any other song by them, but even then it's iffy. You can listen if you like and let me know what you think unless the leaked location I've been listening to has already been removed. Alternatively, I recommend searching for it on Twitter; there seem to be many uploads of the song there.

Seriously, if you see somebody do both at the same time , comment it below. Understanding that many of their fans suffer from mental illnesses also helps the band write more influential songs without the fear of being rejected by their own fanbase. Not everyone in the clique is guilty of this selfish mentality. This is not a solution. My life basically consists of playing lacrosse and doing homework but when I have a moment to myself I can be found jamming out to my favorite songs or Validate your fandom by being a fan. When you link your personal identity so heavily with something that is fundamentally meant to be shared, you will inevitably forfeit your identity to the public when it actually becomes shared. If somebody flat-out disrespects the mission and message of Twenty One Pilots, by all means fight back. In the last year, the popularity of Twenty One Pilots has dramatically increased due to widespread support of their most recent album, Blurryface.

Music may mean many things to people and may sometimes redefine the lives of individuals too. That is the power of music we are talking about here. We discover how a powerful piece of music can be and transcend regional, cultural, and social barriers to connect human beings all over the world.

In other words, those who are upset about self-proclaimed fans only knowing one song likely have no way of proving that the person actually only knows the one song.
