The world of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is positively teeming with mythical themes. As such, magic is present in the world, coming in all shapes and forms with all sorts of users that fight for both good and evil. Whether it be a giant glowing orb underground or a healer using the energy of Nirn to help the wounded and sick, magic is everywhere in Skyrim and is broken down into five subclasses: Restoration, Alteration, Illusion, Conjuration, and Destruction. Each of the schools has its own strengths and weaknesses as well as unique abilities to accompany your mastery of the skill. Alteration is the manipulation of objects in the physical realm and allows for the changing of said objects. This allows for spells like Ironflesh, which enhances the casters armor rating by 80 points for 60 seconds, or Dragonhide, which allows you to ignore 80 percent of all physical damage. Alteration has some great perks for your everyday casting needs, like the Atronach perk, which absorbs 30 percent of the magicka from any spell that hits you.

My first play through was a Khajit conjurer, skyrim magic. The main ones being destruction and skyrim magic, so you can blast out the strongest spells without worry or heal, and leave your actual mana for conjuring distractions for enemies to focus on or crowd contr effects from the other schools of magic.

When attempting to cast a spell, if enough magicka is not available, the spell will not be cast. Keeping a close watch not to exhaust magicka supply during combat is important, as magicka regeneration is drastically lowered while fighting. Magicka and magicka regeneration potions and enchantments can be used to counter this.
