Lanolin was originally created by Adam Bryce Thomas as a background character in issue 2 , and would make other background appearances in subsequent issues that he had illustrated for. Ian Flynn confirmed the character's name in January Evan said she felt seeing Lanolin in the background with her style and attitude change between issues would be very interesting as an arc to explore as a full fledge character.
