Instead of being emotional, revelatory, or action-packed, the mid-season finale feels like a filler episode.

For a show that usually does a lot of hand-holding when it comes to plot, I like that this episode throws its audience into the deep end. This episode is genuinely unnerving in a way these CW superhero shows seldom are.
