Courses are held over weeks and their classes are run in a fun and supportive way. Going to your first class can often be the biggest hurdle. Surrey Jive promise they will do all they can to put students at ease. They want students to remember they are with like minded people who are probably just as nervous. Students learn two new jive moves per week and each week builds upon the last. At the start of the class they revise the previous two weeks. This is useful should students have to miss a week. Surrey Jive have a proven track record and have a background in teaching. They have taught over 2, students since the company was formed in and they share a passion for all things 's and 's. Surrey Jive will teach clients the lost art of 'partner dancing', something that has been lost over the years. If signing up as a couple remember this is a pastime that can be done together. If attending as a single dancer, then like the couples there is an opportunity to meet new people, learn a new skill and become fitter and healthier in the process.

We love to share our passion for dancing to music of the 's all the way through to modern tunes. Our classes are fun and instructive and you may join at any time. Classes progress each week with some moves repeated and new moves added with techniques explained so that you can build up a portfolio of moves whilst learning how to lead and follow your partner in the correct manner. We cater for absolute beginners and intermediate levels; you'll learn great moves whilst enjoying the atmosphere and listening to great music. Wear casual clothing, flat soled shoes and come with a sense of fun, we'll provide the rest! We offer the following classes which are great fun, good value and easy to learn, as well as weekend social dances. After a year learning how to teach Ralph and June bit the bullet and formed the Surrey Swing Dance Society in order to promote the music and dancing they so enjoyed. They wanted to give back to the community all the fun, fitness and splendour of the Swing dance style. When G-Live opened in Guildford they were lucky enough to be given a regular slot to teach in the studio, and built up a big following for the Lindy-Hop dance. During their tenure they were able to bring in none other than Ryan Francois and Jenny Thomas , world-renowned Lindy Hop choreographers who have worked on stage and screen.
