Brace yourselves for some glamorous outfits, good vibes and a great feed because it's Eid again. Dubbed the greater Eid of the two that take place every year, Eid al-Adha holds a greater significance to the community. It's known as the Feast of Sacrifice. Eid al-Adha usually comes two months after Eid al-Fitr , which is known as the "Feast of Breaking the fast" and marks the end of a month-long fast. Enter the trifecta that defines every Eid celebration: worship, sacrifice, and gatherings. However, the four-day celebration officially began on the evening of Tuesday, June 27, and ends on the evening of Friday, July 1. This is because Muslims follow the Islamic lunar calendar based on the cycle of the moon , so a new month starts when a moon is sighted, and a new day starts when the sun sets. Given the reliance on moon sightings, the celebration can differ by a day or two depending on countries and regions.
