You can get the biggest jump this way by going through to Hima and the likes of Asgard , Balacruf Mausoleum , and the Tower of Mana before going to Palmacosta. She is the only member of your party who can use or distribute the darkness attribute, and she can only do so after completing A Saga of Spirits and the Temple of Darkness and forming a pact with Shadow.
