Not only does Indiana's Amish Country have outdoor parks for winter fun, but there are plenty of indoor entertainment and shopping activities for the entire family as well! Check out six great ideas below. Just a few miles west of Shipshewana a gorgeous park that is perfect for snow fun - Bonneyville Mill County Park. Bonneyville Mill Park has two great sledding hills, a warming building, and miles of cross-country ski trails. The Lighting of Shipshewana is a spectacular, one-of-a-kind event when the entire community gathers to officially bring in the Christmas season to Shipshewana, IN. Thousands of visitors line the streets to experience this huge event. The spectacular floats, carolers, wagons and horses that march through town will delight and surpise the whole family. The parade begins at the Shipshewana Flea Market grounds and wanders through downtown Shipshewana to end in front of the Blue Gate Restaurant. The Christmas celebrations here truly showcase the towns small-town charm and kind-hearted people, as well as its bright and sparkling Yuletide joy. Experience a one-of-a-kind drive-through light display extravaganza, showcasing more than two million LED Christmas lights displayed in an almost mile-and-a-half-long symphony of colorful light scenes celebrating the holiday season! Then, travel to shops around town to fill them with yummy chocolates and enjoy the Chocolate Day specials offered by local retailers. Inside the little red building, Santa will be waiting to visit with any child who comes, but make sure to stop by the other stations as well to partake in hot cocoa, cookie decorating, coloring pages, goodie bags and a giveaway!
