It's really evident in the Land of Waves arc. Now though, everything looks drawn more like a typical shonen -- it's very clean and sort of simple, and the content even matches. Same for Kubo. But I'd say he actually got a lot better with drawing faces, at least. Bleach's early art was terrible. Don't let anyone tell you it had "character". It was just pretty bad. It at least somewhat fit Zombie Powder, but it felt bad in early Bleach. Ichigo had a damn rhombus for a head. It started getting really good toward the end of the Soul Society arc. But I agree, Naruto's early artwork had a much better feel to it. There was a time when Naruto was actually about Ninjas.
