There are a ton of hidden mini-events found throughout the strange and fascinating world of Terraria , and each gives a unique reward that players can use to enhance their adventures. The Torch God, the lord of all flaming lighting implements, does not actually make a physical appearance in the game, however, their deadly trial most certainly does. If one manages to pass the trial of this inflamed deity, they will receive the Torch God's Favor, which, to put it simply, will allow all of the torches one places to match the biome that they are in. This will in turn increase one's Luck stat; a hidden value that influences chances of unique item drops, rare enemy spawns, and much more. To start the trial of the Torch God, players will need to place torches in a close grouping below the Surface layer of the world. This can be done in any biome and during any time of day or night, therefore setting things up should be fairly easy if one has the resources to craft all of the required torches.

The Torch God ends once all nearby torches have been spent, to a maximum of attacks.

Torch God's Favor is a permanent booster item that permanently grants the player the ability to automatically convert regular Torches and Campfires in the player's hand to the current biome 's torch or campfire variant, which increases the player's luck in most areas. Torches and campfires placed with the ability toggled on will permanently remain converted to the biome torch they were placed as, even if freed and picked up.
