Traffic update on m1 northbound

A man has died after being hit by a HGV on the M1 this morning, with the motorway closed in both directions. Emergency services raced to the scene shortly after 3pm following reports of a crash, with police confirming that a man had also been spotted on a bridge in the moments before the fatal accident. A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police told Express. Police received a call shortly before 3. The motorway remains closed in both directions between junction 21a and 22 northbound and 22 and 21 southbound while the incident is dealt with.
