Daydream Island Resort in the Whitsundays reopened in April after an extensive redevelopment. There has been a lot of travel industry chatter about the new Daydream Island and its family-friendly and eco credentials. So last month, while holidaying on Hamilton Island, my husband Adam and baby daughter Evie and I headed over for a day trip to check out the re-vamped resort.

The housekeeping staff were very helpful in responding to requests for assistance. Some of the staff are not friendly. Some really lovely staff. We were there 22 years ago — time flies! Barista coffee needs to be ordered and paid for separately in the lobby. We opted for a Superior Ocean View Twin room. We required for razor but it never came. Create your account.
