I wonder if anyone has any recommendations for a decent pair of slippers that are not too "grannyish"! I would like some that are robust because I do pop outside in them and have been known to do a bit of gardening in them and I want them to stay on well i. Hopefully some that do not get too big over time either. I hate slippers, I think they can be quite dangerous to people as we age, much better to have a comfortable pair of well fitting light weight shoes. I've got a pair of Hotter shoes that I wear in the house, they are easy to slip on and off and robust enough to go out into the garden.

Apparently I have an ugly house since no one seems to want to buy it. We did have one little nibble this week after one year with nothing of someone who was interested in making an offer if we'd dig out the foundation and place rubber around it or some crazy thing. Which, sure as heck I'd do, but they never actually made the offer. Anyway, I'm desperate to sell, and am considering calling these people since normal people are not interested. They are a franchise based in Texas. I recognize your name but can't seem to remember your house? Is there some type of incurable defect preventing a sale? Just market conditions? Are you sure it's priced 'right'? There are many houses in my area that haven't sold with more than a year on the market. They aren't "ugly". Well, some of them may be a tad unusual! Culdesac Tempe has been welcoming residents since last year. The homeowner, Corrine Casanova, had bought the three-bedroom Baldwin Park bungalow with her husband in and now owned it outright. After raising three children there, she was days away from leaving it for an assisted living facility and had called the number on a HomeVestors ad. He calculated the profit he wanted to make and presented Casanova with a page purchase agreement during the short visit to her house. But Casanova was incapable of engaging in a complex negotiation. She routinely mistook her adult son for his uncle. HomeVestors cautions its franchisees never to take advantage of sellers who are unable to understand negotiations.

The longtime private real estate investing franchise offers homeowners a simple deal: cash for your home in its current state, no matter how pretty or what underlying issues may lurk beneath the surface. Selling your house directly to a company such as HomeVestors runs opposite to the conventional listing process, whereby you partner with a real estate agent , primp and prep your house on the open market, and let buyers compete for your home. The Texas agent founded the company in as a one-man flipping business in the Dallas-Fort Worth. From there, the business over time went countrywide. In the summer of this year, David Hicks, who had been with HomeVestors for 18 years, stepped down as the head of the company. Under his leadership, HomeVestors ranked for the sixth time on the annual Inc. Leading the company today is Larry Goodman , who brings over 35 years of real estate experience , including 12 years as the COO of a national multifamily property management firm and 15 years in various roles related to investment and asset management, overseeing a diverse range of commercial and residential assets for pension funds, insurance companies, and high net worth investors.

Is there some type of incurable defect preventing a sale? I was too attached when we first put it on the market, I know. He passed away about a month ago and now she's left to deal with it. You seem to be rural which can take longer to sell but I would think the water would be very enticing to buyers right now. So easy to loose footing especially when carrying things upstairs or on step ladders. After David learned of the contract, he explained to Evans that his mother had dementia and tried to cancel the sale. From what I understand from one of our Gladys Kravitz-ish neighbors, the house next door to us will have to be sold that way. Thinking ahead when installing or moving a washer and dryer can prevent frustration and damage down the road. I live over miles away now, and it's a PITA and an annoyance, like a monkey on my back. Report Highlights Housing Insecurity Among Seniors Older Americans face rising mortgage debt, high costs for medical care and assistance, and a dearth of accessible housing. While the house is in an area of really nice homes, the house immediately across the street from me is a tiny little ugly ranch - eyesore, which used to be mostly hidden by a beautiful huge Elm that they chopped down right before I put the house up for sale. I don't know a lot about short sales, but I gather that they can be complicated.

That really throws a wrench into the plans of lowering the price.
