The league is regarded as Euroleague Basketball 's second-tier professional basketball club tournament. The number of the new competition was increased to a total of 48 and the winner of the 3d tier FIBA EuroCup Challenge , formerly known as EuroCup would get an automatic qualification for the tournament's following season, for first time. The —21 EuroCup Basketball season was the 19th season of Euroleague Basketball 's secondary level professional club basketball tournament. A total of 24 teams from 10 leagues participate in the —21 EuroCup Basketball. In response to the premature ending of the previous season caused by the COVID pandemic , the eight teams that qualified for the quarterfinals were awarded with guaranteed spots.
