Again in my game i did 3 hours attempts , if i get show or joke the mask i receive malus to my stats especially the romantic one that don't allow me to get the strip. Tbh, this has been my speculation since forever, cause seeing how vulnerable Jessica can be hinted when Jess is reluctant to Mike's advance, and shown in her state - if alive - in chapter 9 and If she could express her softness without it being actually revealed, she'll go for it.
