Bob Healey was starting to organize a national campaign to fight against the tax issue that caused the job loss and stagnated boat sales. Bob also organized a vast amount of out-of-work boat builders that gathered on Capitol Hill for a rally, a true testament to the commitment that the Viking family has made in this industry. After two years, the luxury tax ended and Viking was overwhelmed with satisfaction as boat buyers started to return to the market. In addition to boat buyers returning to the market, Viking Yachts escalated to the top rocketing over their competition. This established the Healey Brothers and their company, Viking Yachts, as the dominant builder in its class for sportfishing and cruising yachts. The Viking 46 Billfish is a foot sportfishing yacht launched by the New Jersey-based boat building firm in The compact flybridge on the Viking 46 Billfish features a tournament-style walk-around helm station with enhanced visibility and a Release Marine chair, as well as a pair of side chaise-longue sofas and a Costa Clear protective cover. The helm boasts a glazed teak dashboard, a stainless-steel power-assisted steering wheel and instrumentation installed by Atlantic Marine Electronics featuring Garmin equipment. All of the electronics from the Viking Yachts shipyard are installed by AME, their subsidiary partner. At square foot the cockpit will always feel roomy even when hauling big catches in through the transom door and lift gate. The cockpit boasts side fish boxes large enough to host tuna, a transom fish box and live-well with water pump access, rod holders, tackle storage, a bait freezer, hosepipes for fresh or raw water and a floor plate for custom fighting chairs and bespoke rocket launchers. There is also ample seating out here in the form of two raised mezzanine seats with backrests up against the cockpit dividing wall, while surfaces come either in authentic striped teak or glossy fiberglass. The internal cockpit is a clean, minimalist and air-conditioned space with a starboard side sofa and, to port, a U-shaped dining sofa surrounding a teak hi-lo dining table.
