With the two sides of the venue offering a very different feel there is something for everyone and so many opportunities for beautiful wedding photographs. The original manor house has lots of traditional features and a grand ballroom whilst the newly build side has a light bright and modern feel… both stunning in their own right.

Having gone through all of the emotions that COVID brought to couples planning their big day, having moved and re arranged, they just wanted to go for it, so chose their Van Dyk by Wildes winter wedding. Sharon and Dave decided to move their day forward to beat the impending lockdown in the UK. We are both so glad that we managed to say I do before lockdown and we are grateful to everyone for pulling it together with us. The Bride squad got ready in the new bridal suite in the newly built hotel extention for their Van Dyk by Wildes winter wedding. The rooms were beautiful and the perfect setting to get ready for your big day. Because of the impending lockdown, Sharon and Dave decided to bring their wedding forward, and I was absolutely delighted to step in when Adele recommended me! Because of the short time frame around 48 hours! The styles we were going for also meant there would be minimal touch up requirements too which was great! Sharon went for a glam textured high bun, with lots of height at the crown. For the bridesmaids we went for lots of lovely low textured buns. Seeing the pictures with the fairy light walk after the wedding was absolutely breathtaking! Sharon did her own flowers and crafted flowers for the bridesmaids too. The wedding reception included a a beautifully intimate first dance and fireworks. It is always an honour to be trusted by a couple to capture their special day, but to do so during a pandemic at such an intimate wedding was truly special. All of their family were there too and I have to say Connies and her bridesmaids were unbelievably calm and laid back, just going with the flow and enjoying all the excitement.

Arriving in the morning it was great fun running between the two of them getting ready as they both had rooms on separate floors on the morning of their wedding. In no time at all it was time to head downstairs to say I do, they chose a lovely indoor ceremony and the bright natural light flooding in through the floor to ceiling windows at Van Dyk made for gorgeous atmosphere as Connie and her dad made their way down the aisle. Whilst Connie had been getting ready we had spotted a field of sunflowers on the horizon so we had a nice wander out for some pictures amongst the flowers before speeches suspiciously complimentary from Bens best man! It really was an absolutely lovely day, I enjoyed every minute and I hope this little sneak preview brings back lots of happy memories for the two of you!
