The Yamaha Virago was Yamaha 's first V-twin cruiser motorcycle , and one of the earliest mass-produced motorcycles with a mono-shock rear suspension. Originally sold with a cc 46 cu in engine in , Yamaha soon added cc 31 cu in and cubic centimetres 56 cu in versions. The bike was redesigned in , switching from a rear mono-shock to a dual-shock design, and adding a tear-drop shaped gas tank. That year, Harley-Davidson , fearful of the inroads in the US market made by the Virago and other new Japanese cruiser-style motorcycles, pushed for a tariff on imported bikes over cc. In a cc Virago was added. A short production [3] of cc was also manufactured. The larger-displacement Viragos were eventually phased out of production, replaced by the V-Star and Road Star series of motorbikes.

Make Honda. Also has Two Brothers Exhaust. Never been laid over, garage kept, and clean title. Selling because I bought another bike. I am second owner and I have owned this bike for 10 years. This is an great bike for a new rider or a female rider. Runs great and the paint is in original great shape. All chrome is in great shape.

With 5 sec from 0 to 60 this bike is fun to ride with the amazingly good v twin torque coming form such a small cc 33ci engine. Although I didn't get a chance to do so, replacing the exhaust can be very rewarding. But thrash a Virago and this can drop into the 30s at which point, due to its quite small, But although fairly basic in standard trim, being a simple, affordable and hugely popular custom also means that the Virago also attracts aftermarket accessories more than most bikes — many of which may appeal when buying used. I will never buy a bike with a chain again.
