Port Douglas 0km. Even good coffee thanks to all the staff. The only complaint I have is that we found this restaurant on our last night in town. Do your self a favour and make sure you place the watergate on your list of places to dine. My wife an I ate there twice during our stay. Both times were fantastic. Although on the second visit we did have a table of loud Americans seated next to us. But the food and the waiter Mel ensured a great night. I can recommend the rabbit pot pie and the coral trout. Both were fantastic. Make the Watergate a stop if you are visiting Port Douglas. It's been 2 years since our last visit to Port Douglas and our favourite restaurant in this magical setting of the Watergate This time round we tried some new resturants some even more expensive than the Watergate yet the Watergate still remains our favourite. Amazing staff and service from the moment we arrived, the lovely lady that greets you at the front doors, to David and especially Kiara our waitress that made our night so special, you can't fault a thing, the food is outstanding, value for money for this exceptional quality , our family whom had not visited Port Douglas yet knew why we left this restaurant till last Please don't change what your doing! I booked this restaurant weeks prior to my arrival as had wanted a special meal out with my husband. The ambience of the restaurant was stunning and gave us a good feeling of what was to come. We were greeted a short time later by our waiter. He told us about the specials and also was able to recommend dishes to us.

Everyone on the staff were smiling, attentive and there when we needed them. Anyone who dines out with kids truly appreciates the ability to wave down a waiter when you really need them. Both kids gave the crocodile starter a BIG thumbs up — this was after we had cruised the Daintree River and admired these creatures in the wild….. The serving sizes were more than substantial and easily made you feel satisfied at the end of the night. SO, would we return? The entrance is down a flame lit path from Macrossan Street.

Visited from overseas with two teenagers. They had croc spring rolls and kangaroo steaks which they loved- only place we found so far in port Douglas offering same. Lovely atmosphere, great decor , great manager , friendly staff- liked it a lot.
