Tuesday night we received some precipitation down here in the village and it wasn't quite cold enough for it to snow up the mountain, resulting in some icy conditions the next morning. In recent days, the best part of the day is definitely in the morning when the pistes are freshly groomed and undisturbed by the hundreds of skiers and snowboarders eager to explore. The wind was noticeable on the highest slopes of Pas de la Casa, but almost inexistent around the forests of Grau. Taking note of the conditions, I decided it was best to stay local within the Pas de la Casa sector and stick to the runs which are at a lower altitude and more sheltered from the harsh elements. My favourite run of the day was Moreto run — a relatively steep, straight run which takes you from the top of the Cubil chairlift down to the centre of Grau Roig sector. As I always recommend, to avoid this you can stick to the sides of the piste where less people are likely to have skied or snowboarded.
