I like all the points made from you and with your help i ll conclude that micah was , as he said , a survivor. Lets analyze him :. He is an Outlaw and there is no honor being an Outlaw you kill for some money or even for joy or a pointless revenge about getting your beloved guns back , he enjoys the outlaw life and being a member or even a leader of a gang , he is sneaky cunning and smart , he is a good speacher using deep meanings he is a good shooter , he can survive alone , he will use everything he has to survive or avoid to put himself on bad situation , he keeps contesting with Arthur a stronger member with stronger relationship with the whole gang that explains why he ll set him up ,. So reading your opinions i ll say he could easily have betrayed the gang to secure himself and use the betrayal as a weapon to manipulate to Dutch and end Arthur who was pain in his arss as contestant and the rest parasite gang members as he believes them useless. And in a greater picture the difference between arthur and him is that he is much more selfish he has no remorses and he lacks on honor. We all like Arthur's character but some will say that Micah is more of an Outlaw here.

For anyone who likes reading my thoughts on the many things I write about and not minding hearing spoilers, please continue on and enjoy. Arthur and much of the other gang, especially Sadie Adler and John Marston had their suspicions about Micah for a long while, but never had proof to prove their doubts true. A popular theory among fans of the game is that Micah had intentions to implode the gang from the inside long before being caught by the Pinkertons after the gang escaped the Plantation Revolution in Guarma. I believe this woman Annabelle was of a similar background to Molly, but unlike his relationship with Molly, Dutch seemed to have really loved Annabelle, and possibly even thought about asking her to be his wife. Bell was already known as a brutal and efficient thief and killer, so naturally he seemed the perfect person to take Dutch down. Micah clearly at some point decided he was gonna double-cross whoever was paying him, though those reasons remain unclear and many, ranging from Micah starting to naturally like Dutch and wanting to make him see his true potential as a criminal to Micah seeing potential in members like Arthur Morgan, John Marston, and even Sadie Adler as effective and prosperous criminals themselves and to join Micah in a new gang, or Micah simply wanting to usurp a lead role from somebody in the gang for his own reasons. That is great news! I think some more proof of Micah being the rat is in the bank job where he is the only one not wearing black. I think him wearing white was his way of having the Pinkertons and the Law not shoot at him. Create a free website or blog at WordPress. Share this: Facebook X. Like Loading June 29, at pm. Red Dead Redemption 2 released in to great critical reception and saw tremendous sales success. The game told a Western tale that ended up being one of the best video game narratives of all time as players journeyed along the way with Arthur Morgan. The Van Der Linde was comprised of many members, some making it and others falling along the way. Some of the characters were likable, but Micah Bell sure wasn't one of them. In the game, Micah Bell is most often seen using his pair of double-action revolvers. For a man who isn't dedicated or loyal to anything or anyone, he's especially concerned with his guns. After Arthur Morgan breaks him out of the cell in Strawberry, Micah pleads to go back and get his guns.

I mentioned this in an earlier reply. They are resourceful enough to find out via other means. In all chapters, it appears that the gang are being watched more closely than they think, and this is very plausible in chapter 4. The whole theme of the game is that the West is dying and forces in support of civilisation i. Assuming Micah was a rat before Guarma, then he couldn't have worked with the Pinkerton's directly, due to Milton's comment. It's more than likely that he was sending a trail for the Pinkerton's to follow and then showed himself after Guarma. Notice how suspicious it is that in the Saint Denis Bank Job, he is wearing a white suit, while the other men are wearing dark colored suits? Or how the law enforcement was informed about the train job in chapter 2, despite the fact that only a member of the gang would be aware? Or how much he wanted to deal with the O'Driscolls? It's totally plausible that he was always a rat.

The betrayal of Abigail to destroy the gang and set up his own life for peace is perfectly suit the theme of the game. This is also backed up by the fact that Micah seems to rather enjoy being in the gang, and even feels like he betrayed them after he was arrested in Strawberry. Posts: Why is there even debate about this? Denis bank which we all know ends fairly well for them. He just wanted the bounty reward on Dutch's head. Change language.
Why would Milton be reluctant to say that Micah was responsible for the bank robbery? Why would he not want Arthur to know that Micah was a rat from the start? Why would it need to be a secret anymore?
Abigail was ambitious woman who wanted to leave a peaceful life with John and Jack. The Boat robbery, The Train robbery, the bank robbery. Last edited by Pyx ; 3 May, am. Cancel X. Never confirmed. Micah is a character with high loyalty to survive until the epilogue managed to collect money from blackwater, dutch destroying all the achievements of the gang itself ending micah's life. This did kinda bug me too, the game makes you think there is a rat long before Guarma, but tbh i'm going with Arthur's theory that the law are just predicting their moves, not exactly rocket science. It was final plan that worked and destroyed the gang completely. I was like Paden - seeing the horse thief on my horse and slapping my hip to find I'm unarmed. Molly told him everything he needed, his last move was to turn the least likable gang member into a rat to cause the divide in the end. Will it respawn?
