William Walter Maurice Keen born 4 March [1] [2] is an English stage, television, and film actor. He has worked in theatre and television in both Britain and Spain. He was a trustee of the James Menzies Kitchin Award, an award set up for young theatre directors in memory of the director with whom Keen collaborated early in his career. By David Benedict. In film, TV and theater, turning true-life events into bio-drama is arguably the fastest route to production. In a balding wig, Hollander radiates power by understatement. Revelling in his authority, Hollander has a permanent gleam in his eye, a malevolent hint at the power-hungry madness simmering beneath his fascinatingly maintained calm surface. Keen presents a man who initially cannot disguise the small physical ticks, but who slowly and methodically quells them as he rises to power. His voice scarcely raised beyond a threateningly even tone, his jawline is stiffened, his chest swollen with power, his legs disdainfully kicking the air around him. His casting, counter-intuitive; the effect, chilling. But this is not just When Boris Met Vladimir. And into the mix come two other vital characters. Initially upstanding and loyal to the state, he has his eyes opened and joins Berezovsky and stays alongside him through to their exile in England where, notoriously, he was killed by poison at the hands of the Russian state.

When filming a big production like His Dark Materials for months at a time, it can be difficult to stay in touch with friends and family — but when she was cast as lead character Lyra in the new BBC adaptation, the then year-old actor Dafne Keen managed to sidestep any homesickness issues handily. Well, her dad, professional actor Will Keen, ended up cast in the series as well, playing the malevolent Magisterium figure Father McPhail.
