Wyze integration home assistant
I really like the Wyze products and was looking into any methods to allow a Dashboard for Wyze. I have been reading up on Home Assitant and how individuals have provided methods to get items or statuses from Wyze Sensors. As you can see, I have bulbs, wyze integration home assistant, grouped bulbs, and color bulbs.
Like most things with Home Assistant, much of the documentation is there, while key details are missing or presumed knowledge. The stream is acceptable, but my weaker cameras tend to pause — probably due to a poor connection. I was able to get a live stream on the dashboard after I began editing my own dashboards — and not relying on Home Assistant to do it for me. I generally followed the steps in the Github instructions. Click the Configuration tab, and enter your Wyze email and password. Now go to your Overview page, and you will see the video stills. Go back to the Docker Wyze Bridge add on, and click the Log tab to find your camera stream names.

After seeing this article, I am going to be dumping Amazon. And when the Amazon things finally go into the trash, anything unable with something else goes into the trash with it:. Anything not specifically about cameras should be re-evaluated in The above is related to an official, direct integration with Home Assistant of course. Wyze even recently just within the last week released a way that devs, and users can get their own official API key, specifically naming Home Assistant in the initial posting about how the API key was intended to help allow Wyze devices to continue to work with Home Assistant. Still, this current method is mostly cloud-dependent through authenticating with Wyze servers and the Wyze API, so I would like to see better direct integration. As WildBill said, part of the delay in 3rd party platform integration is to see what Matter does since it would be a waste of resources to build things individually when they may be able to just support one of them Matter and have everything else automatically supported from that. There is at least one HA integration with Wyze. What I am looking for is a way to turn on a Wyze Rule. I would also like local control of course. Using a cloud API is ok but local control is preferred. Here is something that I would like to contribute to this discussion. I understand why Wyze does not have Home Assistant high on their priority list: They have a good pulse on their users, and not that many of them use Home Assistant. But let me point out something, and use myself as an example. I have used Wyze for years.
Overall, it was 1 worse video feed quality 2 tended to drop out. Instead, Wyze has created a user-base like me who actively discourage people from using their products. Dismiss alert.
I would gladly continue to pay for services like Home Monitoring if Wyze products integrated with literally every other smart device in my home. With the smarter Home Monitoring base station it should be a simple matter of software to send broadcasts locally as well as the Wyze systems. WildBill… I am sure they are committed to this project as they are for landscape mode for tablets… Just sayin. Again, the capability is there, they just refuse to make it available locally. Wyze wants you too play in their eco system.
Wyze has long been known for delivering decent quality products at an affordable price. Those specs at that price do make the Wyze Robot Vacuum a compelling option when looking for a robotic servant. Unfortunately, as we've also come to expect from Wyze, it doesn't natively integrate with Home Assistant. Not only that, it also doesn't integrate with the Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, or any of the other voice assistants out there. But, where there is a will, there is a way: I say natively because, as you might have guessed from the headline, there is a custom third-party integration available. I will be the first to admit that robot vacuum cleaners are a fantastic invention, and I couldn't imagine living without one in my home any more. Despite all the technological advances seen in the past years, such as automatic emptying of the dust container and sonic mopping , a robot vacuum cleaner is still a vacuum cleaner. And vacuum cleaners don't operate silently. The Wyze app does allow you to set schedules for the Wyze Robot Vacuum, but those schedules are set in stone.
Wyze integration home assistant
Do you have a Wyze camera? Do you want to integrate it with your Home Assistant? Look no further! Wyze is a smart home security company that produces a variety of products, including cameras, sensors, and smart bulbs. But what sets Wyze apart is its integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing users to control their Wyze devices through voice commands. With the home assistant Wyze integration, you can easily monitor your home from anywhere, set custom rules for automation, and receive alerts when motion is detected.

If I want to incorporate cameras into my Home Assistant platform I must go another direction than Wyze. You switched accounts on another tab or window. What I am looking for is a way to turn on a Wyze Rule. You signed out in another tab or window. The Color Bulb will be there. I have recommended, and had them then installed, in my brother, several other friends and coworkers homes and businesses.
Please note this mimics the Wyze app and therefore access may be cut off at anytime. If you like what I have done here and want to help I would recommend that you firstly look into supporting Home Assistant. You can do this by purchasing some swag from their store or paying for a Nabu Casa subscription.
No longer am I stuck with a rule dependent on a single sensor. Like other companies they want full control to track usage, security and to force you to use their software where they can advertise and have direct links to their store for shopping. Emphasis on should, as some other change could potentially break that third party integration. HA still seemed to support it and there was an active dev again but he ran into problems with Wyze threatening to block HA users from their server. With a half million device out today, you need to play well together locally. Branches Tags. The open source community reverse engineered the protocols V1 sensors and developed software that does the work for Wyze only for Wyze to complain and threaten to cut them off from their servers V2 sensors. Thanks again. When the V2 sensors came along I looked past that engineering failure and bought into the V2 line. Not sure why they would be dropped since they are still the only viable option from Wyze. After restarting Home Assistant, you may need to restart the docker-wyze-bridge add-on too. The stream is acceptable, but my weaker cameras tend to pause — probably due to a poor connection. I just connected the Bridge to one of the USB ports. However, I am still trying to figure out why the actual Motion Sensors stopped working after the last update to the HA Wyze Integration. Maybe, we can open a ticket with him and see if he would add it back.
