On Friday 8th March we have a Staff day planned. This means that year 11 students will miss their usual 2 hour GCSE Art session where they would be completing important preparation work for their upcoming exam. In order to minimise the time lost and to allow students to prepare fully for their exam piece, we are asking that. Students have been so engaged and working really hard getting their teeth stuck into Shakespeare so we are very excited about our upcoming fieldwork! Once again, we strongly disagree with this judgement as our students respectfully and amazingly express who they are every day. Inspectors did not seem able to grasp fully what we do in terms of our curriculum model or recognise the impact that the high quality work our students produce has on their character growth and academic success. This was based on the fact that our quality assurance of external provision has not been robust enough and that we need to improve this aspect of our work. Within 24 hours of the inspection, we identified the risks and mitigated the issues raised regarding the quality assurance of our external Post 16 provision to put things right. This in no way reflects the excellent external provision in place at both Harrison College and Higher Rhythm, who provide amazing provision for some of the most vulnerable students in Doncaster. We consider this to be disproportionate and it is contradictory to the other judgements and general comments in the report. Unfortunately, and unsurprisingly, Ofsted did not uphold our complaints regarding the above, the unprofessional conduct of the team and their conflicts of interest.

We continue to see the impact of our expeditionary learning curriculum on combined higher outcomes in English Literature and History with a third of our students achieving a 6 or above across the disciplines. We must remember that E25 was significantly affected by numerous year group closures during the pandemic, and it is within this context that their achievements should be particularly celebrated. However, as we continuously say at XP, academic achievement is only one measure of success. Through our cross-subject expeditionary curriculum, students have enjoyed an engaging, creative and rich learning experience. This has allowed our students to engage with the world and create beautiful work that really matters and that has made a difference.
