The Underdark is a huge area that can overwhelm you after experiencing the big world above. Act 1 of Baldur's Gate 3 is a walk in the park compared to what dangers await you below. While in The Underdark, you may have stumbled upon an ancient tower guarded by highly reactive turrets. This is the Arcane Tower. This tower is hard to get into due to its defenses and mysteries. With the right character and Scrolls, you should be able to walk through the tower with ease to uncover the secrets and loot within the Arcane Tower. As soon as you walk up to the courtyard of the tower, a turret will have sights on your whole party.

The Arcane Tower in Baldur's Gate 3 contains some useful loot and interesting environmental storytelling, but exploring it is an optional activity not linked to any quest. We do recommend you have a nosey inside though, as the loot contains some ingredients required for other side quests, and weapons that can come in very handy. You should allow the turret to keep looking your way while un-linking a party member that can sneak by. The turret in the courtyard won't shoot you unless you walk into the courtyard, so standing at the ruins with your party will be safe.
