Just got back from a weekend in Benidormas it was the first time I had been I spent a bit of time reading the forums, benidorm forum tripadvisor, thought, surely it can't be as good as they say! Well it was and I can't wait to go again! Welcome to the Benidorm junkies club

We are a family group of 5 adults and 2 children age 12,16 coming to Benidorm for my mums 70th birthday in July. We are staying for 3 nights. Have been looking at hotels or apartments and going round in circles. Would like to be fairly central, fairly near to the beach and for it to have a nice pool area. Have looked at the Melia Benidorm but after reading the reviews have been put off. Can anyone recommend somewhere for us to stay?

We have more newsletters. The sun is shining, travel is back and Brits are flocking to Benidorm already. Loaded with hotels, bars and beaches, it's long been a tourist favourite. It's even that popular with us Brits that we made a whole TV show about it. Thanks to tourists, the sunny Spanish spot has quite a reputation for itself as a mini Britain by the sea. With fish and chip shops, cheap beer and British telly on in many of the pubs, it's became a real home-from-home for many, but some are less than impressed. We've scoured through Tripadvisor reviews of hotels, beaches, bars and more to find the funniest ones from some unhappy visitors. One holiday-goer was unimpressed from the moment they got there, writing: "As we drove into Benidorm the Rep said Welcome to Concete City but to me it's Blackpool with sun. Another described it as: "Benidorm is an absolute disaster unless you leave your brains at home and don't actually want to meet any Spanish people. Whereas some people positively praise Benidorm's Old Town as "Something for everyone if you look for it. Typical brit invaded Spanish resort with lots of crazy things round every corner," one unhappy visitor says to: "Avoid this alcoholic built up concrete jungle! With the "stunning," "beautiful" and "wonderful" beach, Playa de Levante, many love to spend a day in Benidorm soaking up the sun.

I also hope this is allowed, I am posting this on behalf of my friend who has just returned and she is not on TA. This is her post on Benidorm Guide. I just want to put a warning up to people attending some of the strip shows. I was pulled up on stage for this show. But I ended up being held in my chair by his female assistant by my shoulders.
