Northumbria Police said Connor Lapworth, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene and Corey Mavin, 15, suffered head injuries and died in hospital. Police were called to the A Hartford Bank in Cramlington at around 9. The teenagers who died, and the two of those who have suffered serious injuries - both men aged 41 and 17 - were travelling in the Suzuki. A woman, 36, in the Range Rover was also seriously injured, while the year-old female driver of the Ford Focus was uninjured.

A year-old man and a year-old boy who were also in the Suzuki suffered serious injuries in the collision and were admitted to hospital where they remain at this time. A year-old woman who was driving the Range Rover suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, while the year-old female driver of the Ford Focus was uninjured in the collision. Mr Surrey added: "We are asking that anyone who may have seen the moments leading up to the collision or have information regarding the three vehicles involved being driven in the area to contact us immediately.
