Blizzard has responded to a recent bug that dramatically increased the drop rate for Diablo's rarest and most sought-after items by temporarily clamping down hard: Until the studio can put out a patch later today, no Uber Unique items will drop in Diablo 4 at all. Problems kicked off yesterday after Blizzard put out Diablo 4's 1. For whatever reason, that patch had the unintended side effect of making the game's Helltide Events and associated Helltide Chests spit out the game's would-be most coveted items at an absurdly high rate. Players were picking up shakos—a pet name for the mega-rare Harlequin Crest —like they were being mass produced in Shenzhen.

In 2 weeks, the seasonal cycle will have started, and no one will care whatsoever what items someone does or doesn't have on the eternal realm. This is a complete non-issue, and definitely expected that they aren't being rolled back. So they can track how many accounts got the drops yet they needed twitter to incorrectly track who got to level on hardcore? So many people are missing from the list Why do they care and want to control this in an ARPG. This is asinine. The game's population basically tanked after many completed campaign and realized end-game is just mediocre and gear "chase" is horrendous. You do realize that there are players who don't roll seasonal toons, right? Except it wasn't an exploit and MOST of the people that got it def didn't know there was a lot higher chance. Damn, you must know exactly what player numbers there is. That's crazy. We do This isn't WoW.
Blizzard once again proved they are disconnected from reality, just as they did with the hardcore race.
People got a lot of Shakos during Helltide due to a bug. Super unique items should not be obtained by people because of bugs. O like they didnt revert back the lillith kill on bens barb back then , but i totally agree, it should reroll everyone who had a shako through the hell tides. They will lose half of their players in the first season. Not looking good.

This caused the devs to remove all Uber Uiques from the game entirely. Uber Uniques have been disabled in Diablo 4 to stop players from exploiting the Shako bug which guaranteed Harlequin Crest Uber Unique item drops from Helltide Chests, which was possible after patch 1. The recent patch aimed to address fan complaints of the items being too rare, and finally allowed Unique Items to drop from Helltide Mystery Chests. Apparently, Unique Items were not able to drop from these before. This change was a response to some of the apathy fans felt toward the late-game loot grind. Unfortunately or fortunately!

They were from helltide chests. Is a rollback necessary or should they release these drops to all players and not just streamers who have their exploit hunters running all the time. Forgot resists being broke. They said they might get around to fixing it before season 2. Who cares that sorc has 0 armor options or any other way to get DR outside of direct dr from gear. Go touch grass.

Of course, some of the anger is pure salt. Another comment, from eclipse , laments that "Druid dropping barb uniques [took] 2 weeks to fix" while "Shako dropping too much [took] 2 hours to fix".
