Stats are numerical values representing a character's physical and magickal abilities - they primarily represent ability in battle, and can affect some other physical activities such as running. As the Arisen and pawn gain levels all primary stats increase, with the amount dependent on Vocation - for details see Stat Growths. There are other character stats, notably Character Weight and Character Height , which are derived from the character creation, mostly from height, musculature, and fatness - these which influence a number of factors including mobility, encumbrance and reach. A character's Vocation affects Stat Growths when leveling up - everytime the Arisen or Pawn level up, they gain 5 to 40 points in Health and Stamina, and between 0 and 6 points in the four offensive and defensive stats. Stat growth is greatest up to level , after which stat increases per level are reduced to somewhere between a half to a third of the previous growth. An un-weaponed character has stagger and knockdown of An unarmored character has stagger, knockdown, elemental, and debilitation resistances of 0, and their calculated defenses differ from the core values by only a few points due to the Cassardi Shift and Cassardi Trousers , plus an increase in MDEF from some worn rings. There are a number of additional stats that primarily depend on equipment and weapons. These are:. Armor also contributes majorly to the calculated Defense , and to Magick Defense , whilst primary and secondary weapons add a contribution to Strength and or Magick , depending on whether they are physical or magickal weapons. Some augments also add small percentages or absolute increase to the character stats e. The ability of a shield to resist blows when blocking is not shown in menus - this stat is sometimes referred to as " stability " or " blocking ability ".

Stat Growths are influenced by Vocation. Upon leveling up, each of the six primary stats Health , Stamina , Strength , Magick , Defense , and Magick Defense will increase in an amount determined by current Vocation. Stat increases vary for each vocation in a way that mostly benefits their respective Vocation's play style and continued use. The highest stat growth is to level , with a slight change in the partitioning of growth at level 10; from level to growth is much reduced to around one third of that per level previously. The initial health, attack powers, defense, and magicks are slightly different depending on the choice. Starting Stamina is independent of vocation but increases by a small amount by each increase in Character Weight class. It also sports good Offensive stats early on.

Stamina Determines maximum action points for specific tasks such as sprinting, carrying and climbing, as well as skills that use stamina. I prefer them though. You really dont need to worry to much. Start a Wiki. That's not to say that there's anything wrong with playing the game for maximum efficiency, it's just that it's completely unnecessary, especially for a first playthrough of the game. You find skill that work, and some that don't. I did not care about building my character correctly at all. Cancel X. Does a hard or speedrun mode game create a separate save overwrite the normal one? In fact, the game seems to be built around the philosophy that you try out everything, end up with a well-rounded and even stat distribution due to that instead of having specialized, and continue to switch vocations to fit your fancy or the situation. I want to play a Mystic Knight for my first playthrough, and I'd rather just stick with it from the level I can attain it until max level maybe starting as a Mage for the healing spell. Of note: Elemental damage is not determined by Magick. Strength Determines the physical damage that a character inflicts. Determines the character's resistance to magick damage before health is affected. For melee vocations the offensive magick stat has little or no effect on weapon damage even when using enchanted weapons , so for a pure melee build, any points in magick can be considered wasted.
