Some other people in the fandom have done some of these with Edward or another characterso I decided to go ahead myself and do one talking about Edward and his run during the show, judging from my own point of view off course, but still keeping respectful of others' opinions. Now, what are my general thoughts on Edward the Blue Engine?
Edward is a blue mixed-traffic tender engine who lives and works on the Island of Sodor , and is the North Western Railway 's number 2 engine. He runs his own branch line with BoCo and is one of the oldest engines on Sodor. When Edward first arrived on Sodor, The Fat Controller was a young man and he would bring him on a journey on his favourite carriage called the Open-Topped Carriage. He was one of the oldest standard-gauge engines to be on Sodor. By the beginning of the series, Edward was confined to Tidmouth Sheds , to the delight of the other engines, who claimed that he was too old and weak to work. Edward was eventually let out again and proved that what he lacked in strength, he made up for in work by pushing a stubborn Gordon and his heavy goods train up the hill. When Thomas was fed up with fetching coaches for the big engines, Edward offered Thomas to take his trucks.
