Question's in the title feel free to skip this part: I avoided using these for a while because I thought it would take away something from the game and on occasion I still do it the old fashion but frankly I find I have more fun after using the eddb tool. What's your favorite tool and why do you prefer it? I don't do trading, but i have tried it out. Using external trade tools felt like cheating to me, so i simply used my noggin, elite dangerous trade routes, pen, and paper, and went scouting round a few systems for good elite dangerous trade routes.

Trading is hands down the best way to make big money in Elite: Dangerous. The fact that you can carry a lot of cargo that you can sell to other stations for profit and there being relatively little to no risks involved with trading means that if you want to make money, trading is your best bet, although it can get very, very boring. Trading is a very simple concept to grasp: You buy lots of one thing at one station, and then sell those things to another station for a higher price. Let's say you find two stations where you can buy domestic appliances from one station for CR, and then sell the domestic appliances to another station for CR. This means that you profit 12 CR per domestic appliance sold. However, a profit of 12 CR is not that much, especially early on when you have a small cargo rack. If you have 16 spaces for cargo, then doing the math is simple: 16 times 12 is a total profit of CR. However, very good trade routes will net you around 1, CR per ton, which can very easily get you a lot of money when you get the highest cargo rack, which has spaces.
