Enlarge person was a transmutation spell that doubled the height of one humanoid with a corresponding increase in mass. Enlarge and enlarge person were reversible, with the shrinking spell being called reduce [5] [6] [11] and reduce person [13] respectively. The transmutation version of this spell instantly doubled a person's height and increased their mass by a factor of 8. All clothing, equipment, and items carried were also doubled in each dimension, but any item that left the possession of the recipient immediately reverted to its original size. Enlarged people had greater strength and increased reach, but less dexterity. Enlarged weapons did more damage, but projectiles or thrown weapons reverted to original size, doing normal damage possibly enhanced by the double-size weapon that fired it or the strength of the arm that threw it.

Could a 3rd level Wizard feasibly create an extinction level event by expanding a continent or even a world? Could a city siege be devastated by either enlarging or reducing the city wall? Last edited by Nagog; at PM. You're limited, at the least, by having to target an "object," so if the DM rules that the mansion is not one singular object, it won't work. Maybe this is RAI and not RAW, but the object must be "within range", which could easily have intended to mean that the entire object be within the spell's 30dt range, not just part of it. Would it work on a wall?

Also, if you can get within range of a star to cast this without being instantly annihilated

You cause the target to grow or shrink. An unwilling target may attempt a saving throw to resist the spell. If the target is a creature, all items worn or carried by it also change size with it, but an item dropped by the target immediately returns to normal size. Its size doubles in all dimensions and its weight increases eightfold. The target also has advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws. Its weapons also enlarge, dealing an extra 1d4 damage.

If the target is unwilling, it can make a Constitution saving throw. On a success, the spell has no effect. If the target is a creature, everything it is wearing and carrying changes size with it. Any item dropped by an affected creature returns to normal size at once. This growth increases its size by one category — from Medium to Large, for example. Until the spell ends, the target also has advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
