Eren has woken up from a dream and has finally realised just how much Mikasa means to him. Eren awakens from his deep sleep, and Mikasa and himself believe that things will actually change for the better. The pair start to develop their new lives together and have high hopes for the future ahead of them. Unfortunately, nothing is perfect; especially in the beautiful, cruel world they live in. Eren and Mikasa are childhood friends and former comrades. Mikasa in particular is exceptionally fond of Eren and overtly protective of him to the point of being willing to attack or kill others if they were to harm him, even including her friends and superiors. However, Eren, by himself, tracked down where Mikasa was and attempted to save her. The two of them ultimately succeeded in killing the slavers and in turn Mikasa was taken in by Eren's family. Many years later, their town was attacked and overrun by Titans which killed Eren's mother and left them both orphaned alongside Armin.

Fan ships are a hot topic in the anime community, and everyone forms their own opinion about the ones that become mainstream or even when it becomes canon. Eren Yeager and Mikasa Ackerman are the most common fan ship from Attack On Titan , and it's one of the few that canonically makes sense. Their relationship has endured the highs and lows of individuals who have literally had to fight for their lives more often than not. What they've been through was sure to put a rift between them a time or two, and, still, their love endured. Eren was only 9 years old when he met Mikasa during his father's house call to the Ackerman home. Even at this young age, Eren knew he couldn't just sit idly by, and, when he found the murderers in the cabin and Mikasa on the floor, he outwitted them and saved her life—one of the nicest things Eren did throughout Attack on Titan. When he was going to lose consciousness, he urged Mikasa to help, and something changed within her. From that point forward, Mikasa not only lived with the Yeager family, but Eren showed her kindness and shared his scarf with her, and they stood up for each other against bullies throughout the rest of their childhood. After Eren gave Mikasa his scarf when they were kids, it became a staple to her everyday clothes. When Eren couldn't turn into a Titan to take down the Smiling Titan,, his intense disappointment overtook him until Mikasa saw his breakdown and brought him back to reality.
