Title says it all. I'm stuck on this guy. Stumped rather, since I know how to beat his first phase pretty easy although I get greedy or just fail evading sometimes. His second phase is where I find myself uh I can avoid all the attacks easy but the problem is I can't find a way to get a hit in besides MAYBE the screaming attack if I use the loaded umbrella. Any tips? I have the basics of every tool besides the whistle, also Mortal Blade too. I also have 7 gourds but that only helps so much really. I found that during 2nd phase the mose useful prosthetics are umbrella and spear. Umbrella helps countering some of the more annoying attacks like his long range lounge. In fact its the optimal strategy.

Using the Loaded Spear will briefly pull out the centipede within dealing high posture damage. Then i realized every damn attack can be deflected and the grab is actually a sweep then it turned from an soul boss to sekiro boss. You need to hit R2 twice to pull back with the spear. The Firecracker prosthetic is useful to stun him and get off a few valuable hits but use them sparingly as they won't work if you just spam them. I'm stuck on this guy. He's found deep within the Sunken Valley. Sekiro boss guide: Guardian Ape and Brown Ape. While this is not overly hard, reading the combos can be a bit tricky at first. When you recognise the first 'lazy swing' part of the attack, start sprinting anti-clockwise around him - at a fair distance, because his rolling has surprising range - and then as soon as he's into the rolling phase, run to his head and start attacking, using the Whirlwind combat art or whatever you feel does the most damage. When he raises his head up, he's going to scream, so dash at him if you have time before getting under your umbrella. You'll want to keep your distance for much of this phase; most of his sword swings can be blocked or deflected but it's best to stay as far away from him as possible.
