Occurring on the first Sunday of each month, set amongst the trees on the Iluka Sports Ground, the Iluka Markets have become widely recognised as having a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Wander through this market and you will find variety and quality stalls. Discover bric-a-brac, plants, cakes, jams, fruit and veg, wood products, candles, beauty products, coffee, food and much, much more. There is locally inspired art, original crafts and woodwork, handmade jewelry, locally produced soaps, cakes and preservatives - the list goes on with this growing market, and only 12 minutes off the Pacific Highway. Pure joy as you wake to the sunrise. Awe as you make it to the snowy peak. A sense of adventure as you motor across red plains. The relief of rejuvenation as you wade into an alpine stream. Connection as you taste native, fragrant leaves. A sense of belonging as you return to your favourite holiday house. Freedom as you dash into the waves. Jeremy and Sue Challacombe are familiar faces at many markets in and around the Clarence Valley. Today they were at the Iluka Markets. Have you tried their farm-grown strawberry ice-cream? On Sunday I packed the family and the new pup into the wagon and drove through Bundjalung National Park to visit Iluka markets, held on the sports fields in town. We arrived around 11am and the markets were in full swing. The rest of the family was interested in finding a source of food, but I was keen to see if remembered any of the tips I was given at a photography workshop yesterday.

In addition, the Aussie mineral sands company has also expanded its production of rare-earth elements. The project aims to source rare-earth products from waste stockpiles from its mineral sands mining.
