With consistent snowfall nearly every day, the accumulation reached an impressive total of 50cm, blanketing the region in a layer of fresh powder. Despite the varying weather conditions — from sunny days to cloudy skies and even some bluebird powder days — temperatures remained low, ensuring optimal snow quality for skiing and snowboarding. However, in Grandvalira Pas de la Casa, we woke up with a white landscape! As the day progressed, the consistency of the snow became soft and slushy — particularly on runs which had been in the sunshine for the majority of the day. The slopes were quiet as the resort is only open for residents at the moment, so we did not have to wait any queue at all. Despite being Half Term, there were no big queues on the slopes, as many of the skiers preferred to enjoy the mountain from the terrace bar, getting some vitamin D. The piste was virtually deserted as most people choose to head down to Grau Roig via the scenic red Cami de Pessons run instead, however the views from the top of Moreto are just as impressive. Our highlighted slope of the week is the Pista Port, a long and winding blue track from the top of the Costa Rodona lift to the CBbC mountain restaurant. Mid-morning to early afternoon is the best time with the snow softening up making it super fun to ski. Despite it is Easter weekend, the slopes were very quiet, and we had plenty of choices for all the levels in the two sectors. The wind has meant that at some points the links between Grau Roig and Soldeu have had to close, but if you do want to go between you can get the L4 bus from the main bus stop to ski the other areas. The temperature was cold with a few degrees below zero even if the sun was shining strongly.

All you need to do now is relax into your skis and enjoy the ride and breath-taking scenery! On days like today, the terraces of Olimpiades and Pas 83 are a great place to soak up the sunshine and watch skiiers and snowboarders riding down the slopes right in front of you. Nevertheless, throughout the week, the slopes of Grandvalira Pas de la Casa and Grau Roig maintained commendable conditions, thanks in part to extensive snow cannoning. By afternoon the consistency of the snow became a little slushy in places, particularly on slopes which are at a lower altitude, but personally I find these conditions fun to ride as the snow becomes soft and forgiving. Grandvalira Pas de la Casa is now open! It's important to note that all links between resorts are still operational, providing an excellent opportunity to embark on a skiing adventure from Pas de la Casa to other areas. It was undoubtely a day to not forget, enjoying the snow while we wait the chairlifts to be open in Grandvalira. Due to being less crowded, it has stood out because of its consistently good slope conditions even into the afternoons. So, we have come to the end of another great, but at times challenging, week here on the slopes of Grandvalira. Due to the cold temperatures the slopes have maintained well and even if it has not snowed in the last three days, the snow coverage was great. The forecast says we should expect some snow in the first week of January and there was even some light snow this evening. The best snow conditions were on the runs coming down the face of Pas de la Casa, such as the red Directa and blue Tubs runs.
