Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has set up multiple story threads that have continued to show how ambitious this universe plans to be in the coming years. Perhaps the most intriguing Easter egg that was set up was in Spider-Man: No Way Home , involving the debut of a small sample of the Venom Symbiote remaining in Earth Even though it would be obvious to see the suit bond with Peter Parker or Eddie Brock, that may not be the plan for this Symbiote. While it's likely Peter will bond with it during or after Avengers: Secret Wars , it's possible he won't be dealing with it for a long period of time. Instead, the Symbiote may find itself in another host after Peter rejects it, but in a universe without Eddie Brock, there's only one character who could easily fit the bill -- Mac Gargan. It's revealed in the comics that Venom has had more hosts than Peter and Eddie, and while a surprise, Mac Gargan was one of the most well-known. The best part is that the foundations are already in place. In the comics, the Venom Symbiote wanted a host that hated Spider-Man and was also a criminal. While Gargan's bonding with the alien was initially rejected, he came to embrace the creature's power and became a monster in his own right. This iteration of Venom had no qualms with eating brains and being an animal. Plus, he would often lose control on the battlefield. Not only would this attitude be unlike the version of Venom already seen in live-action, but it would also give fans the Spider-Man-hating version they wanted to see come to life in a way even Spider-Man 3 didn't fully capture. To set up this unique rivalry, it would be imperative that Peter would have to fight Gargan as The Scorpion, perhaps with the black suit first. However, with Gargan out for revenge since Spider-Man: Homecoming , his revenge would be at least a few years in the making. Then, after Peter rejects the suit, a post-credits could tease Gargan and Venom's union, finally setting up a new iteration of a classic rivalry.
